THERE was a palpable sense of anticipation surrounding the unveiling of the weights for this year’s Randox Health Grand National on Tuesday with all eyes on the horse that has made the race his own for the last two years.

As expected, Tiger Roll finds himself at the head of the weights on a mark of 170 and that brought with it the initial news that he is only 50-50 to run, though later in the week it looked more likely that he will take part. From shortly after he crossed the line in last year’s National Tiger Roll’s bid for a third win in the great race has been far from certain and the conjecture as to whether he will line up in this year’s race may yet rumble on for at least another few weeks.
