“IT’S an old people’s game. It’s going to gradually lose its appeal.” This view, from what was described as an industry veteran, brought to a close an article on the greyhound racing industry in last Saturday’s The Irish Times, by Jack Hogan-Jones.

The point of bringing this up is to highlight the fact that racing needs to ensure that its image and popularity doesn’t suffer the same damage that has befallen the greyhound industry since a recent RTÉ exposé into how the dogs were treated.
