IT is just under two months since racing in Ireland got back underway and since that first meeting took place at Naas on June 8th, the sport has made a largely seamless transition to the realities presented by Covid-19.

In the ordinary course of events some of meetings that have taken place since early June would have attracted a meagre enough attendances which meant that on various occasions racing’s new regimen didn’t come across as all that jarring. However, all that changed at Galway on Monday.
