IN a week’s time the seemingly interminable wait for the resumption of racing in Ireland will take another step in the right direction with the unveiling of the declarations for the fixture at Naas on June 8th.

Over the last two months the thoroughbred industry in this country, like so many other walks of life, has had to confront a period of trying uncertainty, unquestionable hardship for many and a level of uncomfortable introspection as racing’s expected return was pushed out to as far as June 29th at one stage.
