Are We Dreaming

(W. McCreery)

This daughter of Kendargent made a heartening start to her career when finishing third to Ezine in a seven-furlong maiden last Saturday when she was beaten just under four lengths. She shaped up nicely in the straight and showed enough to suggest that a maiden success will not be long in coming her way this summer.

Poppy Petal

(Mrs J. Harrington)

A five-furlong maiden winner in Britain last year, she left the form of her first two Irish runs a long way behind when finishing third to Drombeg Banner in a decent six-furlong three-year-old handicap.

She was beaten just over a length and a half and this effort bodes well for her prospects through the rest of the season.

Emer Elysees

(B.J. Fitzgerald)

She was unable to justify favouritism in a fillies’ bumper at Cork last weekend. However, she was beaten less than 10 lengths into sixth and didn’t run at all badly in trying to come from off the pace in a steadily-run affair.

She can be rated a good deal better than the final result and compensation may not be long in coming her way.

Gulliver’s Travels

(A.P. O’Brien)

A brother to Magic Wand and a half-brother to Chichquita, he made an encouraging start to his career to finish fourth in the mile-and-a-half maiden won by Fumata last Sunday.

He could never get close enough to mount a telling challenge but finished out his race in pleasing fashion and would have been closer but for being hampered on the last bend.

This initial experience could make him hard to beat next time.

The Dazzer

(P. Martin)

This gelding went off at big prices for his three maiden runs last autumn but showed definite promise on his second outing and he confirmed that he will be able to win races when third to Fools Glory on Monday evening.

After looking a likely winner at one point in the straight he was beaten just over two lengths and he should progress from what his first run since October.
