2:30 Jersey Stakes (Group 3) 7f

This looks an excellent opportunity for dual Guineas placed Ivawood to get off the mark for the season. Back a furlong, he should stretch out over the fast ground and boost the Gleneagles form. Some of the Ballydoyle runners have been slow to come to hand but all their representatives ran well yesterday and Sir Isaac Newton could be a threat, albeit that he is still inexperienced. The other Irish runners Toscanini and Devonshire have each-way chances

SELECTION: Ivawood

3:05 Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) 5f

Fast fillies over five fulongs with American filly Acapulco and Ryan Moore receiving more attention than her stable companion Bruised Orange. The stable’s Ruby Notion ran well yesterday. Mark Johnston’s two-year-olds shone in the Coventry and Deliza looks the best of his two runners and likely to be involved. Another daughter of Dark Angel, Easton Angel recorded a good time figure at Beverley. Besharah has impressed on her two runs. Tommy Stack’s Cry Me A River is a maiden but of obvious interest when put into this hot company.

SELECTION: Acapulco

3:40 Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies & Mares) 1m

Integral is odds-on to give Ryan Moore another win. She has undoubted claims. At the odds, a chance is taken on Rizeena who has two lengths to find on Integral from the Falmouth last year although she didn’t cut much ice on her reappearance. Her overall form makes her better than a 7/1 chance. Cladocera ran well in Dubai behind Solow. Lightning Thundner could also outrun her odds if returning to her 1000 Guineas form.

SELECTION: Rizeena

4:20 Prince of Wales´s Stakes (Group 1) 1m2f

A fantastically international contest which sees the reappearance of the hugely promising Free Eagle. There’s no doubt Dermot Weld can have him ready first time out but this is a stiff test. Cannock Chase has to step up to Group 1 level and although Western Hymn has good form, he may be best on softer going. Spielberg is a six-year-old and although he has some good form, he looks a bit behind the top Japanese performers. Ectot too has a bit to prove. The Grey Gatsby has cheekpieces after a disappointing run in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. Last year’s form and his Dubai run make him the one to beat.

SELECTION: The Grey Gatsby

5:00 Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) 1m

Speculative Bid impressed under Jamie Spencer in the Victoria Cup and could be a group horse and is well drawn for a late run in 14. Ayaar impressed at Newbury early in the season and has been saved for this, he was unlucky here last year and is sure to go close but his draw in 1 is a worry. Second to Ayaar first time out, Spark Plug beat GM Hopkins at Newbury. The latter is lightly raced for Gosden and Moore. Last year’s winner Field of Dreams could go well again.

SELECTION: GM Hopkins

5:35 Sandringham Handicap (Listed Race) (Fillies) 1m

A tricky fillies’ handicap to round up the second day. Always Smile is unbeaten in three races. Nell Gwyn winner Osilia brings the best form but carries top weight. Jellicle Ball who promised much on her two-year-old run, has been disappointing but represents the powerful Gosden/Moore alliance. A chance is taken on the Charlie Hills maiden Kodiva (16/1), third in a hot listed race behind Irish Rookie and Lady Of Dubai at Newmarket last autumn.

SELECTION: Kodiva
