DEFEAT in a Group 3 race for fillies at Haydock was not the most obvious warm-up for a career best performance in beating the boys, including last year’s Derby winner, but 17/2 chance Fanny Logan (John Gosden/Frankie Dettori) showed a good turn of foot in the conditions to win a messy race by two and a half lengths.
