Classic winners Billesdon Brook, Alpha Centauri and Teppal are set to clash in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.

The Richard Hannon-trained Billesdon Brook was a shock 66/1 winner of the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket last month and she will try to prove that was no fluke in this Group 1 heat after connections stumped up £45,000 to supplement for the race.

Alpha Centauri secured a landmark first classic success for prominent dual-purpose trainer Jessica Harrington when landing the Irish 1000 Guineas and she will also be aiming to give her handler an inaugural Royal Ascot.

Teppal is unbeaten in three starts for David Simcock and graduated to the highest level with victory in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches; otherwise known as the French 1000 Guineas; last month.

Despite there being three classic winners among 17 contenders, the Aidan O'Brien-trained Clemmie has been leading the ante-post betting despite finishing only ninth behind Alpha Centauri on her return.

O'Brien holds a typically strong hand, with Athena, Could It Be Love, Happily and Hence also left in the race.

Coeur De Beaute was just behind Teppal in France and could launch a cross-Channel raid for Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez, while Capla Temptress was fourth that day for Marco Botti.

Adorable, Aim Of Artemis, Anna Nerium, Nkosikazi, Threading, Veracious and Whitefountainfairy complete the possible line-up.
