I’VE used this column more than once to highlight the plight of ordinary punters who have historically struggled to get a fair crack of the whip (no pun intended).

Bookmakers have been quick to entice new customers with offers, but as the marketing spend increases, the customer service budget tends to decline, and punters with a grievance have been treated shoddily on the whole, from stake restrictions to incorrect bet settlement and much worse in many cases.
