THE Jam Man’s win for owner/trainer Ronan McNally at Southwell on Monday was overshadowed for him by a number of interviews with the stewards which left him feeling “like a criminal”, he told Sky Sports Racing after the win.

McNally was first called by the stewards after a morning gamble on The Jam Man was flagged up as being of interest to the BHA’s Integrity Department, and, along with jockey Aidan Coleman, he was asked why the race had been chosen, what their expectations were in terms of performance, and what instructions to the jockey would be.
