THE issue of interference in racing has again become a hot topic, with successful appeals against the decision of racecourse stewards to impose bans for careless riding at Yarmouth and Lingfield, respectively.

As a result of debate stirred by Kevin Blake and vividly presented by his editorial team on the Attheraces website, stories like the quashing of Rab Havlin’s riding ban and that of Charlie Bennett at Lingfield subsequently have caused greater ripples than might be the case.
