ELSEWHERE in this august publication, I mention that Hollie Doyle hit a personal milestone by riding her 117th winner of the calendar year, and I recall writing a short piece last year about her achievement and her place in the current jockeys’ ranks. A bit of context wouldn’t go astray here, so here it is.

In terms of the 2020 flat and all-weather season (as opposed to the fabricated jockeys’ championship which is of extremely dubious value historically), Doyle sits third in the jockeys’ table, adrift of runaway leader Ben Curtis, but only a handful of winners behind Oisin Murphy, and ahead of both William Buick and Tom Marquand of the centurions in the list.
