IN any other year, this end of season review would be filled with differing memories of international forays both at home and abroad. Stories from the Olympic Games would have featured prominently, and indeed having historically qualified three highly rated squads for the equestrian disciplines, it had promised to be year to relish.

Of course, the reality was quite different, but even in March when the first of the Covid-19 lockdowns was announced, the possibility of an early competitive resumption looked hopeful. As we all now know however, the event season did not kick off until the end of July and was eventually concertinaed into just three-short months.
