THE Choisir gelding Piri Wango, whose showing career only began this season, finished third in Sunday’s Elite Series Final at the ROA and Goffs UK National Showing Championships. These were held during six days of competition at Aintree organised by the Retraining of Racehorses organisation.

Ridden and produced for longterm owner David Spratt by Co Waterford’s Rosemary Connors, the eight-year-old chesnut qualified for the final when winning the Irish Horse Welfare Trust Thoroughbred Club retired racehorse show series final at the home of sponsor Tattersalls Ireland in July.
