Irish National Stud: This week the paper marks 50 years of the Irish National Stud in its status as a semi-state body. The centre eight pages form a pull-out section, containing various articles.
There is an article on the history of the property, which has been a stud farm since its purchase by Colonel William Hall-Walker in 1900; his gift of the stud to the British Government in 1915; its sale to the Irish Government in 1943; and the establishment by legislation of the Irish National Stud Company Limited, coming into being on August 31st 1946.
