BUSHRANGER’S sale to stand abroad has coincided with a number of high-profile successes for his offspring. During the week I saw Michael O’Callaghan’s classic fancy Now Or Never, while across in Britain Con Harrington’s homebred Ridge Ranger was a deserved stakes winner and she now is a very valuable sale and breeding prospect.

Eric Alston handles Ridge Ranger and she pushed her prize money totals over £95,000 with her win in the Listed Kilvington Fillies’ Stakes at Nottingham. Since she won on her debut late in her three-year-old season, she has added four more victories and her placed efforts include a very narrow defeat in the Group 3 World Trophy at Newbury last year. She is a mare who seems to be improving with age and she has been in the money on 10 of her 15 starts.
