Horse Auction Belgium has been creating a reputation for its quality young horse selection since its first edition in 2013.
The key to the success of each edition is the professional team behind the auction that guarantees the quality of the horses that are selected.
Michel Spaas is head of the team and has been a horse trader, breeder and stallion owner all his life. He has created an exceptional reputation all through Europe as a true horseman. Spaas works hand in hand with some of Belgium’s horse industry top equestrians:
Cristophe Gijbels has more than 25 years experience in breeding and horse trading all over Europe. Kevin Gielen has competed as a professional rider at the top level of the sport for many years and is the main trainer and owner of KG Stables in Belgium. Last but not least the public relations specialist Lore Penders, who as a rider and horse trader herself, knows the industry inside out and is the mastermind behind all the logistics, communications and client services for the horse auction.
Horse Auction Belgium has a very strict selection process and takes pride in offering the best bloodlines from around the world, always guaranteeing healthy, rigorously vetted horses.

Jimmy Mack van Berkenbroeck performing at the highest levels of the sport (1.60m and Europeans for young riders), Lorenta, who jumped as an eight-year-old and placed third in the Grand Prix three star in Frankfurt and Heart-Third. She is a fantastic mare who already had 12 international wins at the age of seven and was delivering clear rounds at CSI** Grand Prix level.
After a fantastic live edition in January 2020, the team decided to take the auction into the next step and increase the reach to potential clients abroad by doing the first online version of the horse auction on from June 26th until June 29th, keeping its founding pillars intact: quality and great costumer experience.
The team is exited to venture into the online horse auction world and have the opportunity to expand its network to connect its future starts with the right client anywhere in the globe.
