The opening class saw Amy Curran, from Moycullen, take the top spot with her consistent yearling filly Glencarrig Countess (Glencarrig Knight x Glencarrig Princess) while the two-year-old colt winner came in the form of Gentle Mac. The colt, who carries on the famous Gentle bloodlines which have been precious to Connemara breeders for many years, is owned by Caillin Conneely and was bred by John McLoughlin.

John Hynes was awarded the red rosette in the two-year-old filly class with his well coupled grey Addrigoole Serena (Castleside Carrick x Fernville April). The Claremorris-based owner, who purchased the filly as a foal from her breeder Kevin Nally, was happy with the win.
