IRISH Draught stallion Púca made no bones about the daunting task that faced him in the famous Dromin Athlacca charity ride in Co Limerick last weekend. Doran O’Toole’s five-year-old was ridden by Colm Kealy of the Wicklow Hunt and took the huge banks and ditches in Athlacca in his stride. The Huntingfield Rebel stallion was bred by David Murphy, who sadly passed away in 2010. The annual Athlacca challenge once again attracted people from all over Ireland and abroad and to date has raised over €500,000 for a wide range of charities. The challenge was run over 15 miles of banks, walls and ditches including the awe-inspiring Black Trench which claimed several victims.
