GLOBAL investment and management firm Goldman Sachs has taken control of Kill International Equestrian Centre in Kill, Co Kildare and Tom Kavanagh of Deloitte has been appointed as receiver of the venue, once a popular national show jumping arena.

The centre, which hosted the 2003 Special Olympics and can accommodate up to 2500 spectators, was affected by substantial flood damage in 2011 and there has been no equestrian events held at the venue since, although it has continued to operate as a riding school. A dispute over an insurance claim following the flood damage has not yet been resolved.
