RACING at Meydan last Saturday was a pretty tame affair, just seven days before Super Saturday which is a high-class prelude to the Dubai World Cup meeting. Doug Watson recorded a training double on the card, brought up when Mutasayyid emerged the winner of the feature mile handicap on turf.

One of five runners for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, the son of Bahamian Bounty was ridden by Pat Dobbs and the pair posted a comfortable success. “He has not had much racing and is hopefully a Dubai World Cup Carnival horse for next year,” Dobbs said afterwards.
