WHEN I first submitted hunting reports to The Irish Field back in the 1980s, the editor of Irish Horse World was Grania Willis. Little did I know that many years later, I would feature her climb of the tallest mountain in the world in my book Horse Tales & Hunt Talk. This is her remarkable journey as the first Irishwoman to climb the more technically demanding North Face of the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. It has claimed over 300 lives and many of its victims still rest clearly visible frozen on the mountain as it is too dangerous to rescue the bodies.
