LYDIA Dawson had the perfect result in the EI 90 class at Kedrah Castle last Sunday when finishing first and second with Tullamaine Templar and Clonswords Alf respectively.

The 20-year-old wisely had a friend accompany her on the trip down from her family’s Kilronan Equestrian Centre outside Swords but she was at the wheel of her own Regent two-horse van.“I bought it with the money I made last year when I sold Gloster (Boy) to England,” explained Lydia who is coming to the end of her second year studying primary school teaching at DCU. “I put him on a website specialising in working hunter ponies but he was bought to go eventing and was fourth on his first outing last month.”
