LAID to rest last weekend was successful owner-breeder and former Master of the Ward Union Hunt Raymond Keogh, buried in full hunting attire.

A graduate of Clongowes, Raymond was fondly remembered by all at his funeral Mass in Maynooth. He had a busy life having been one of Ireland’s biggest cattle dealers back in the 1970s and 80s. He served for a time on the board of the Irish National Stud and was passionate about racing and breeding. His real love was hunting and he served as Master of the Ward Union, whose stag emblem was included in his racing colours, for 20 seasons from 1967 to 1986. He was made an honorary life member of the hunt in the 1990s. At the Ward Union Children’s Hunt, a mark of respect was paid by all attending to his memory.
