MEMBERS of The British Horse Society (BHS) Fellows and Instructors Association and their guests took part in a recent day trip to three of Ireland’s top equine locations. Olympic showjumper Greg Broderick’s state-of-the-art yard in Thurles was the first stop where the senior equine coaches were impressed by the attention to detail in the horse-centred modern facilities, before the group moved on to lunch at the famous Coolmore Stud.

Here, the group viewed many of the 16 stallions currently standing at stud. The group rounded off their day with a visit to the Fethard Horse Museum, looking at the key place the thoroughbred holds in the history of Co Tipperary. Next year’s trip hopes to visit Jessica Harrington’s yard as well as the Irish National Stud.
