WHEN she won the CCIJ2*-L at Ballindenisk in April last year on the former Alex Power ride Lakantus, Britain’s Saffie Osborne told the Irish Horse World that she saw her future as a flat jockey and we were pleased to see her partner her first winner in that sphere recently.

Team and individual gold medallist at the 2018 European pony eventing championships on the Irish-bred mare Little Indian Feather, Osborne was having her 13th ride on the track when she landed a two-year-old novice race at Windsor by a head on Hot Scoop. The successful Hot Streak colt is trained by Saffie’s father, Jamie, who, along with her mother Katie, was at Ballindenisk when the rider scored on her Irish debut.
