IF you find it difficult to differentiate between equitation and working hunter classes, how to ride in them and/or how to judge them, then head to Anne Stanley’s Barn at the Castle Hill Equestrian Centre on the evening of Wednesday, March 27th for a practical insight into both codes.

International course designer and Horse Sport Ireland coach Tom Holden will conduct a course walk over a track he has built after which six demonstration riders will jump as for equitation and then working hunter competitions. The former will be discussed by Derval Diamond, BHSII and HSI coach while Olympic event rider Mairead Ryan will concentrate on the working hunters with which she is very much involved.
