TO huge applause, Britain’s Scott Brash officially retired Hello Sanctos (17) at the five-star show in Geneva last weekend. Part of Team GB’s 2012 London Olympic gold medal team, Brash has often described him as his ‘horse of a lifetime’ – not surprising when you take into account Hello Sanctos’ European Team Gold and a European Individual Bronze medal.

Owned by Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris, Hello Sanctos was ranked as the world’s top show jumping horse in 2014-2015. The bay gelding (by Quasimodo van den Molendreef) swept all before him to become the only horse to complete the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping successfully, with victories in Geneva, Aachen and Calgary. An unfortunate injury in December 2015 saw the equine superstar sidelined since then.
