THE final for the Wicklow Stolen Spurs at the AIPC in Phoenix Park was an epic battle of matching goals through four chukkas last Sunday, but in the end, with less than 20 seconds to spare, CJLaw/Workpal delivered two goals to win the final against LHK/Keelings.

The win delivered either a message or a promise made last June, depending on who was looking at the President’s Cup tournament that William Clarke and Ian Megahey’s team would win a final against tournament nemeses Colm Kelleher and Caroline Keeling along with Michael Connolly and Sienna Moore. With the chance of sudden death in overtime looming, Will Clarke delivered the tie goal while Ian Megahey scored the win on seven goals to six from LHK/Keelings.
