THE four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Necarne has had some notable winners in the past been won by Briar Hill, Bun Doran and Drovers Lane. This year’s race may have featured just four horses as the conditions turned far more testing than many would have wanted, however despite that, Curtain Tim (91+) was still able to come through having quickened best over the final half-mile.

Notably, in the final race of the two-day fixture and despite having to compete on the worst of ground conditions, William Tyndale (90++) put up a very big performance. Clocking the card’s quickest time, the nine-year-old outclassed his rivals from the penultimate fence to win by 20 lengths. Rated 82 over hurdles that could prove to be an appealing mark. Alongside fellow wide-margin winner Kates Hill (85++) they look horses to follow to the track.
