THE curtain came down on another point-to-point season at Ballingarry, as is now customary, on the June bank holiday Monday. While the finale did not end with a bang it did not go out with a whimper either.

Overall, I do not feel it will go down in the record books as a vintage season, for there were not many races that could have been described as epic encounters. Even when one got a first look at the entries there were very few potential contests which promised to reward attendance.
