THANKFULLY Monday’s predicted abysmal weather forecast didn’t materialise at Dawstown as it remained fine throughout the six-race card that was run under the auspices of the Muskerry Foxhounds, even if it was still quite windy at the scenic Birch Hill circuit.

This will have mattered little to Peter Duffy, a 37-year-old Summerhill native that now lives in Athboy, as he partnered his first winner in a little over 20 years by steering his own horse Robin De Roost to a clear-cut success in the four-runner open.
