Late last year I was asked to pen a few thoughts relevant to the future health and growth of Irish racing, following my six years as chair at the British Horseracing Authority. Well, I am glad that I waited a year to pen these thoughts, as a lot has happened in 2019.

Why ask me? Well, I have to confess an undying love for Ireland, from my days going to Dingle (my first trip was as a toddler in 1960); my family connections with Ireland; my kids’ names; my love for Irish golf, the countryside, Irish racing and the ‘craic’.
