THE Group 1 Investec Coronation Cup turned out to be a tactical affair at Epsom on Saturday and it produced an unexpected finishing order with the 11/1 Pether’s Moon catching the odds-on front-runner Dolniya near the line to score by a neck.

The second favourite Flintshire was another length and a half behind in third, and although the time of the race was quicker than standard, yet nearly a second and a half slower than the Derby later that afternoon, a literal interpretation of the form would not be advised.
