KILLCARRICK Riding Club hosted the second leg of the Linda Moore Show Jumping League at Punchestown last Sunday, kindly sponsored by Glanbia and Gain.

The intermediate class was the largest, attracting 26 competitors. Peter Dargan of Kilrainey RC defied gravity and entertained spectators when Temple Cruise, by Cruising, put in a bold leap at the first fence. Dargan not only managed to get back in the plate but kept on course for the second fence and went on to produce one of only five clear rounds over Seamus Casey’s technical course. Undeterred, he was then the only rider to cut inside fence 11 in the jump-off and shaved six seconds off the time set by Paul Curtis on Lady for Brittas RC who finished second. Third place went to Margaret McCumiskey of Celbridge RC, riding Sheena.
