THE impact that Sadler’s Wells (by Northern Dancer) has had on the National Hunt industry has been tremendous and of the eight stallions who have passed the £1 million mark for the season, so far, four are sons of the white-faced bay.

Of his male line descendants who have been siring blacktype winners over obstacles, so far the strongest emerging line has been that of the late Montjeu, the outstanding middle-distance racehorse and one of the world’s leading sires of Derby-type horses.
