COOLMORE Stud’s unbeaten 2000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand (by Giant’s Causeway) had a big double on Sunday when Hesham won the Group 2 Prix Eugene Adam at Maisons-Laffitte and Kaspersky took the Group 2 Aengevelt Meilen Trophy at Dusseldorf. The former was bred by Yeguada De Milagro SA, and he is out of the stakes-placed dual sprint winner Doohulla (by Stravinsky). He is a half-brother to the Group 3 Prix Paul de Moussac scorer Xanadou (by Peintre Celebre), who later won in Hong Kong under the name Rainbow Chic, and his grandam is the Group 2 Prix du Gros Chene winner Viva Zapata (by Affirmed). Allevamento La Nuova Sbarra’s homebred five-year-old Kaspersky is a prolific pattern and stakes winner in Italy and the now dual Group 2 scorer is the best of four blacktype horses out of Croanda (by Grand Lodge).

His dam is a half-sister to the Group 3 Premio Regina Elena (Italian 1000 Guineas) runner-up Cronsa (by Martino Alonso), and his third dam is the Group 1 Oaks d’Italia-placed stakes winner Crodas (by Shirley Heights).
