CONGRATULATIONS to all concerned after The Banker by Donegal artist Marina Hamilton was sold as a wildcard lot in the Goffs sales after racing at Punchestownon Thursday. The coin covered life-sized horse sculpture, raised a massive €8,500 for charity.

Marina said: “I was chatting to my daughter about the idea initially of sticking coins on the horse to make it a grey, a tribute to Six Silver Lane a horse I rode in the Corinthian Challenge, charity race series last year and she said ‘you can’t stick money on a horse’… and I said that’s exactly what you do at the races, you stick money on a horse and it started from there.
