A RARE work by Robert Polhill Bevan, perfect for a collector, is coming up for auction at Sotheby’s in London next Tuesday, November 19th, which depicts the horse auction at Tattersalls circa 1921 when the auction was located in a grand, glass-roofed hall in Knightsbridge just up the road from Harrods.

The image features the classic cupola that survived WW II bombings and now stands at Newmarket as an icon of the establishment. The picture has never been at auction before, since it was acquired in the 1920s, and will now be offered with an estimate of £30,000-50,000.
