THERE were many talking points after the 41st Kildare Derby Festival and absolutely centre stage for craic was the LipSync Battle in Kildare town.

Rachael Kane, mischief champion of Paddy Power, told all: “Really a lot of the credit for this fun evening goes to Orla Murtagh. She was determined to get the crowds back into Kildare town as it was in the old days of the Irish Derby meeting and she pulled it off. There were approximately 3,000 in the square according to the Gardai and one major pub in town, who had stocked up ready for the Derby, had to shut their doors as supplies dried up.
