THE Irish Equine Centre recently staged its annual Sean M. Collins Memorial Golf Classic and the winning team was representing the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association.

This is the IEC’s main fundraising event each year and always receives phenomenal support from all areas of the racing and breeding industries.

Outgoing CEO Sarah McNicholas said: “We would like to thank everyone who supported the event through entering a team, sponsoring a tee box, placing an advert in the event brochure or making a donation. Every penny raised goes to the IEC Trust for the purchase of vital scientific and IT equipment.

“We were blessed this year with the weather this year and the hospitality at Carton House was excellent.

“It was great to see the ITBA team win with a score of 90 points and are delighted to congratulate Fiona McEnery (captain), Jamie Lowry, Sean Ronan and William Kennedy on their win. Their chef d’equipe Shane O’Dwyer was a very proud and happy man!”

Runners-up were Connolly’s Red Millls, followed home by Godolphin Ireland, Ardmore Equine Nutrition, Cruinn Diagnostics and Moyglare Stud.
