KILLENAULE native Rachael Blackmore was kept busy away from the gallops in the lead-up to Cheltenham. Always loyal to her grass roots, she took time out to present last year’s U13 and U15 Killenaule hurling teams with their medals, as well as helping to launch the Killenaule ladies football club.

Star-struck

She gave her captive audience a few pointers for Cheltenham and her star-struck audience promised, in return, to roar her home in the months and years ahead. They must be hoarse by now!

Clean-up

Rachael also recently joined forces with Tipperary County Council and members of the local Tidy Towns for the launch of the 2022 Spring Clean in Thurles. She explained: “When I came home last year and saw all the support I had received locally, I was blown away and I was more than happy to help out.”

Happy birthday, Aidan

ANOTHER birdy has news that Aidan McGarry, the manager of Navan Racecourse, had a very special ‘big’ birthday last week. All his friends in Horse Racing Ireland wish him a very happy birthday.
