WINNERS everywhere at the Curragh last Tuesday as, along with the inaugural and highly successful Student Derby (pp 34-35), the 2021 Curragh Racing Awards were presented at the finale of the season.

Rory Cleary won the leading riding performance (voted by the public) for his ride on Mac Swiney in the Group 1 Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas. Giving him by far the biggest win of his career and his first classic, Cleary rode a fearless race to edge out Poetic Flare and give Jim Bolger a one-two.
