PARROT Mouth has been asked by John Ryan, a trauma and transplant surgeon in the US, to help in trying to identify a group of bookmakers photographed, it is believed, outside the Majestic Hotel in Tramore in the late 1930s.

John’s father Richie, who owned about 40 bookmaker shops, is at the end of the second row from the back, beside Billy Hill, the only man without a jacket. At the other end of the same row is Dick Power, grandfather of David, one of the best known faces on Irish racecourses and owner, with his wife, of Sole Power and others.
