TWO people are due to appear in Letterkenny Court later today (Wednesday) in connection with the fire at Lenamore Stables in Muff, Co Donegal, on Sunday morning, which resulted in the death of two horses.

Following a full forensic examination at the scene, a man and woman were taken to Buncrana Garda station for questioning and will appear in court today.

The fire broke out at Geraldine and Kenneth Graham’s yard at around 6am on Sunday morning. There were seven horses in the yard and despite the best efforts of the family and fire crews from Derry and Donegal, two horses were trapped inside and sadly lost their lives in the blaze.

One woman in her 20s was brought to hospital where she was treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Lenamore Stables has been in business for almost 50 years. As well as an international show jumping yard, it is a riding school and livery stable.
