The pivotal four-day foal section of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale concluded this evening (Thursday) with a set of figures that couldn’t match those from last year but they were ones which stood up well in the overall context of this sale while also making for interesting reading.

The foals produced a turnover of just under €11.2 million, which was a 4% decline on last year. The median also suffered a decline as it went from €12,500 to €11,500 but there was better news in terms of the average which reached €17,233. This was both a 4% progression on last year and a new record for this sale.
