THE last time that the Osarus Yearling Sale was held at La Teste, more than €4 million in sales was generated. Not held last year, the recent renewal saw an aggregate of just €1.7 million. This resulted in significant declines in both the average and the median.

Trade was headed by a pair of €50,000 lots, colts by Almanzor and Gutaifan. First to that price was a son of Almanzor out of the five-time winner and stakes-placed Dutch Art mare Passion Blanche. Her first runner has won four times. The colt was bought by the very busy Mandore International with Jean-Claude Rouget, the trainer having guided the racing career of the yearling’s sire.
