Alan King is looking forward to welcoming Yanworth back into his yard soon.
The dual Grade 1-winning hurdler began last season over fences – and while he landed the Dipper Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day, connections elected to switch back to the smaller obstacles in the spring.
He rounded off his season by finishing sixth in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Prestbury Park in March, and a minor issue afterwards meant he has enjoyed an extended holiday at owner JP McManus’ Martinstown Stud in Ireland.
King said: “Yanworth is hopefully due back quite soon.
“I’ve not seen him since the spring, because he has been back at Martinstown. But Frank (Berry, racing manager to McManus) was very upbeat about him the other day – so I hope we will see him later this season.
“I hope he will be back for some of the good meetings at the end of the season.”
