THE Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board has noted the recent BHA disciplinary hearing involving Brendan Powell and says the findings will have no impact on the former trainer’s current position with Joseph O’Brien.

Powell was found to have misled an owner in 2017 over the health of a horse he trained in Lambourn. The BHA accepted the welfare of the horse was never compromised and the one-man disciplinary committee fined Powell £2,500. Powell, who ceased training in 2019, cannot apply for his own licence for the next 12 months.
