Michael Mulvany is hoping On The Go Again can put a recent disappointing performance at Cork behind him when he makes a quick return to action in the Invesco Pension Consultants Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday.

The five-year-old gelding was last of seven behind Making Light in last Saturday's Listed Platinum Stakes over this trip of a mile after finishing third over two miles at the Galway Festival.

"We were a little disappointed with him the last day," said the County Meath handler.

"This track should suit him better and we're hoping for a drop of rain.

"There's not a bother on him.

"We just hope he can put up a good show on a stiffer track."

Aidan O'Brien is represented by St Patrick's Day and Threeandfourpence, while there are two UK challengers in David O'Meara's Escobar and the Roger Varian-trained Masaarr among the nine declared.

Varian told his website: "Masaarr responded well to the first-time blinkers when winning at Deauville and that looks a good piece of form for Listed level.

"He has trained well since, track, trip and ground will suit and this is a logical next option for him."
